The Sudoku puzzles in the college level are somewhat difficult to solve. They cannot be solved with only the two basic techniques: hidden single and naked single. In order to solve the puzzles at this level, you need to master some advanced techniques such as locked candidates, naked pair, hidden pair, naked triplet, and hidden triplet. In some cases, you may also need to apply the following techniques: x-wing, swordfish, xy-wing, and xyz-wing, one or two times in total, usually in the later part of the game when most of the cells have been filled with digits.
